Lynn and Daniel booked this sunrise Moraine Lake engagement photo session with me during their trip out to Banff National Park this past September. They will be getting married in Toronto next summer and even though they have engagement photos scheduled at home, they wanted to also get photos done at one of the iconic lakes in Banff. I think it’s such a great idea to combine getting photos done with a vacation, especially when it’s somewhere as beautiful as Banff.

We scheduled a quick zoom call where we talked more about what they were looking for and I discussed more about the experience of shooting at either Moraine Lake or Lake Louise. We settled on a sunrise session at Moraine Lake and made a plan to meet at 6am in a short couple of weeks!

Sunrise Moraine Lake Engagement Photos

The morning arrived and we lucked out with a bright sunrise, calm waters, and a pretty warm morning for September in Banff. Lynn wanted both a formal look and a casual look so they packed a change of clothes to bring along and changed right there on the side of the rockpile midway through the session – such champs! I have also never seen someone so comfortable moving around on the rocks in heels, girl has balance!

It was a blast cruising around the lake with Lynn and Daniel and we even got some photos at the end with Daniel’s parents who joined them on their trip out to Banff. Of course, I took some photos of just his parents too so that they could also have some beautiful memories to look back on.
