An adventure elopement is a fantastic way to celebrate your special day. You can make your elopement even more memorable by planning activities that you love and that reflect both of your personalities. It’s your day after all, shouldn’t it consist of the things that you both love?? Here are some activity ideas for how to spend your elopement day outside doing things that you love!
If you’re the outdoorsy type, why not plan a day-long hike or camping trip for your elopement? Spend time exploring nature together and take in all of its beauty. Pack a picnic lunch filled with your favourite snacks, sandwiches, and bevvies to enjoy at the top of a mountain or near a scenic lake. Don’t forget to bring along some extra layers of clothing like down jackets, mitts, and toques since temperatures can get chilly at higher altitudes!

Hire a photographer who specializes in outdoor photography (holla, me!) to capture the beauty of your elopement day. Have them join you on your hiking trip or tag along on a riverside picnic after you exchange your vows. If you want something more unique, head off into the backcountry with your fave photographer (hi, me again) and have them capture all those incredible memories so that you can remember them forever and also share them with friends and family. Photographs are the one tangible thing that you will have from your day, so don’t sleep on a good photographer.
If you’re looking for something fun yet active, consider booking an outdoor activity like kayaking downriver rapids, zip lining through a forest canopy, or rock climbing up tall cliffs! Look into horseback riding, canoeing, or even skiing! These activities will provide thrills and excitement as well as create lasting memories on your special day. Make sure to book activities that both of you are comfortable doing so that it’s enjoyable for everyone involved! Think outside the box here, however you and your person like to spend your most precious days together can be turned into how you spend your elopement day together.
Would you rather have a slow and meaningful morning? Want to wake up surrounded by nature and then sit in an incredible hot tub surrounded by twinkly lights together while having your morning coffee? Then you both can make breakfast before you help each other get ready and head off on your most important adventure yet? Let’s do that! Or would you like to finish up your elopement day cuddled up in front of a campfire while roasting s’mores? Adventurous doesn’t have to mean doing an epic activity, adventurous can mean whatever you want it to. Choose your own adventure, friends!
No matter what adventure elopement activities you chose, it should be something that reflects both of your personalities and makes the most out of the great outdoors. From hiking to kayaking to slow days in the woods, there are plenty of ways to make sure that your elopement is as adventurous and memorable as possible! So don’t be afraid to think outside the box when it comes to planning yours – after all, it’s your day to do what you wish! Make it yours and make it wonderful.
