Brendan and Carlie’s surprise proposal and Banff engagement photos were something out of a dream. They had planned this vacation together but behind the scenes Brendan had been meeting with jewellers and planning with me to pull off the most beautiful proposal. The two of them stayed at the Moraine Lake Lodge the night before and met up with me bright and early for a “just because couples session”. We headed up the rockpile to find a private spot to watch the sun come up. Just as the sun started lighting up the tips of the mountains that make up the the Valley of the 10 Peaks, Brendan got down on one knee and popped the question. It was so beautiful and sweet.
We then spent the rest of the morning exploring some different areas around the lake and getting stunning engagement photos. We made a pit stop at their cabin for a quick outfit change, which is something I recommend for all my couples when we take engagement photos. It gives your final gallery some extra variety and you can switch up looks, doing both a formal look and a casual one. Carlie chose a beautiful flowy red dress for her second outfit, which complemented the mountains and the colourful canoes perfectly! This whole morning was flawless, from the reflections on the lake to the dreamy light to the incredible couple. Congratulations you two, I can’t wait to see photos from your wedding! Thank you for including me in this special moment.
Let me help craft an intentional and stress-free wedding experience while I document the story of your day.
Thank you so much!
