This early September Kananaskis Hiking Elopement was one for the books. Kenneth and Jeannine met me at the trailhead late one afternoon and we headed up the trail to where Kenneth’s parents were waiting for us at their chosen ceremony location. I love when couples know exactly where they want to get married, selecting a location that is meaningful to them, it is so special!

Kenneth and Jeannine chose to get ready together surrounded by the valley and the trees. We all headed down to a perfect little spot for their ceremony, where his mom officiated. We even had some extra witnesses, as the resident marmots set up shop to watch the festivities. After a sweet ceremony, celebratory champagne, and the legal stuff (where I got the honour to be one of their witnesses!), they changed back into hiking clothes, we said our goodbyes to Kenneth’s parents, and off we went to continue hiking up to the cirque.

Once up on top of the cirque, the fresh newlyweds changed back into their wedding attire and we spent some time exploring the area and taking photos. Kenneth and Jeannine brought lemonade for a mid hike break and to spend some time just soaking in the views and each other. It was such a beautiful day, full of thoughtful touches, and so much love. It was such an honour to be a part of such a beautiful day. There is nothing better than a couple choosing to celebrate their love in a way that is so truly them.
