This Canmore Winter Wedding at A Bear and Bison Inn was such a special day to be a part of. I have known Kaitlin and Charlotte for many years, as we all used to work together back in the day. We shared a small office and I got to watch their friendship grow and then wasn’t surprised when they found their forever person in one another. They truly complement each other so well.
Each of their families traveled to Canmore to be with these ladies on this special day. Charlotte and Kaitlin chose to have a first look in the beautiful main room of A Bear and Bison Inn. This was the perfect place for such a special moment and to surprise each other with seeing each others’ dresses for the first time! After an emotional greeting, they exchanged private handwritten vows to each other.
Charlotte, Kaitlin, and their families got all bundled up and we headed down to the river in front of the iconic Three Sisters mountains for some family photos. Everyone braved the trek down to the viewpoint and we were greeted with some light snow, wind, and insanely cold temps. We did our best to get the family photos done as fast as possible so that the families could head back to the vehicles and back to the warmth!
The brides and I stuck around for a bit longer to take some portraits of them. They were such troopers, braving those temperatures in their dresses and beautiful faux fur bridal stoles (a must for any Canmore Winter Wedding!). As we headed back to the car, all with very frozen fingertips, the ladies poured some celebratory pink Moscato (which was also very frozen!). Nothing like a cold drink on a cold day, right?
Once back at A Bear and Bison Inn, we all warmed up and got ready for their beautiful outdoor ceremony. The staff at the Inn did such an incredible job, lining the aisle with candle lit mason jars and had the gazebo all done up with beautiful lanterns and twinkly lights. There was even a fire going to keep the guests warm! Charlotte and Kaitlin had also made fleecy blankets, complete with their wedding logo on patches in the corner, for everyone to snuggle up under.
The sun had set by the time the ceremony rolled around and it was an absolutely stunning night (albeit very cold) for these two ladies to commit their lives to each other in front of their families. The love radiating from them and everyone there was so tangible.
The rest of their night was spent inside surrounded by loved ones. A delicious dinner from A Bear and Bison Inn was followed up with an amazing funfetti cake (a special Pride touch!). Kaitlin even surprised Charlotte with custom cake toppers made in the image of their pets that stayed back home in Calgary.
It was truly an unforgettable day for this Canmore Winter Wedding. Thank you so much Kaitlin and Charlotte for having me there, it was an absolute honour to be able to capture these memories for you. Love you both.
